By popular demand (and many emails asking!) I am now in a position to repair TiVoHD units sold in Australia and NZ.
I have the tools, stock of replacement parts and access to information required to repair the majority of TiVo faults. Like everything, sometimes this is not possible if it is too far gone, but usually it is possible to help out most of the time. Fortunately the weak link in the Series 3 is the hard disk and power supply. Both of which are not hard nor expensive to replace or repair.
If you suspect you have a fault with your TiVo you are more than welcome to contact me and I can try to make a quick assessment of what the problem may be, and advise if there is anything you can do at your end to remedy the problem. If a solution at your end is not possible then we can discuss the best option for repair be it you sending me the TiVo, or if you are capable of swapping parts yourself I can offer to send you the necessary items.
My repair prices are reasonable and I do not charge for assessment. This is because TiVo repairs has been something I have offered for a very long time at a hobbyist level. To that end please bear in mind I do have a full time job and a family so if it takes a day or so to reply to your request please do not panic as I do answer all emails.
Furthermore you are under no obligation until we agree on a price/strategy for repair. I also work on a "no fix no charge" policy. In this case you simply cover shipping of either the full TiVo being returned for your disposal or just the parts you wish to recover.
I must declare however that I am not an official TiVo service agent and do not work for TiVo/Hybrid Television Services (HTS) or Channel 7. As such if your TiVo is still under warranty then please use the official TiVo repair helpline to get service. If you wish for me to repair a TiVo still under warranty I am more than happy to, however it will void all warranties and I will have to charge for the repair.
